A little while ago, I was asked to take part in the recording of a music video for '1914: The Carol of Christmas' a very special Christmas charity single written by Chris Eaton.
We had a really good day filming near Grantham. The AWOL adventure team were so lovely and so professional and the weather was perfect for the out door scenes so we were really lucky! The Tommy I was filming with was the very talented Andrew Muggleton. He is an expert in all things Edwardian so he was helping us to make sure our sets, props and dress all looked authentic. We were there to represent a young couple who were engaged to be married before the Tommy went off to war, but he died before they could be married. This story was so heartbreakingly common for the time.
Here are a few words from Chris about the single:
"1914, The Carol of Christmas is now battling it's way to reach No.1 this Christmas time!
I am honoured to be a part of this, and I ask you from the bottom of my heart to help spread the word throughout every family in this country and across the globe because 100% of all proceeds from downloads will go to three major military charities, specifically helping the servicemen and women and all those affected by war.
An amazing Military Choir, the RAF spitfires, Flight Lieutenant Matt Little, Wiliam Inscoe (BBC young chorister of the year finalist) and Abby Scott are all featured on the track.
Please, please listen, download from Amazon or itunes, share the video, give it a thumbs up and spread the word! If everyone joins our mission, then this message of peace and hope WILL continue to touch the hearts and souls of our nation!"
