On Sunday 29th June, the Heritage Foundation honoured Brian Epstein with a blue plaque.
Brian Epstein managed The Beatles from 1962 until his death in 1967 and made them the world wide phenomenon we know today. I was invited to the event that followed the unveiling of the plaque at Argyll Street and enjoyed the speeches, a fantastic three course meal and also great company. Over 500 people attended the event, including Nicko McBrain (drummer of Iron Maiden):
Dave Berry (British pop singer and teen idol of the 1960s) also attended and performed at the reception.
At the commemoration, messages from admirers were read, including accolades from Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Martin. Pattie Boyd, Yoko Ono, Andrew Loog Oldham and others also paid tribute.
There was also an auction of The Beatles merchandise as well as other items in order to raise money for The Bomber Command Memorial Fund.
You can read more about the event as well as some of the messages for Brian here.
